The population basis for this collection
Four of Stanly County’s ten incorporated municipalities meet a population threshold of 2,000 in the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management’s standard July 1, 2024 estimates, Vintage 2024. This is a dated population estimate, not a claim about today’s count. We use a single consistent source and year for the entire list.
| Municipality | Estimated population | Family-law guide |
|---|---|---|
| Albemarle | 17,414 | Albemarle guide → |
| Locust | 5,632 | Locust guide → |
| Norwood | 2,477 | Norwood guide → |
| Oakboro | 2,420 | Oakboro guide → |
Locust’s total includes 4,984 residents in Stanly County and 648 in Cabarrus County. The other six municipalities are below the threshold in this same dataset: Badin (1,913), Stanfield (1,688), Red Cross (855), New London (776), Misenheimer (650), and Richfield (613). Sources are linked below.

Adkins & Purkey, PLLC is at 217 W. Main Street in Locust. This resource serves readers throughout Stanly County; it does not imply a separate office in every town. The contact page also identifies Adkins Law’s Huntersville office and its separate contact details. Tell the firm where the parties and children live, whether a case already exists, and the dates of any deadlines so counsel can evaluate the appropriate next step.
Use the Adkins & Purkey consultation inquiry form, or find call, text, office maps, and directions. The population threshold organizes this article series; it does not limit who may contact the firm.
